Les Feldick Bible Study

What did people do with the lame man at the temple gate called Beautiful?

A man lame from his mother's womb was carried by others and laid daily at the temple gate called Beautiful. He was placed there to ask alms, or beg, from those entering the temple. The text says this was his daily situation.

Les explains that as Peter and John went up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer, a lame man was lying there. The text says this man was lame from his mother's womb, and people carried him and laid him daily at the gate of the temple called Beautiful so he could ask alms of those entering. Les notes that the Lord Himself must have passed this same begging man for three years, off and on, yet did not heal him, because the sovereign God does everything with a purpose.
