What happens when God saves us and places us into the body?

When God saves a person and places that person into the body, if the salvation is genuine, God gives an innate ability to love Him in return. This is part of what happens in salvation, and it mirrors how Eve was created with an ability to respond.

Les explains that the same principle is pictured in creation: God created Adam with the ability to love his helpmate, but He created Eve with an ability to respond. In the same way, God works with us. When He saves us and places us into the body, if our salvation is genuine, we have an innate ability to love Him in return. Les says that is part of it, and it is what so many people miss. The broader context of Ephesians 5 illustrates this with husbands loving their wives as Christ loved the church and died for her.
