To whom is all prophecy directed?

All prophecy is directed to the nation of Israel, because Israel stands at the core of the prophetic events. Peter told the Jewish crowd they were the children of the prophets and of the covenant God made with Abraham. Though the whole world is involved, prophecy primarily concerns Israel, including Revelation and Jacob’s trouble.

Les explains that Peter, preaching to a Jewish crowd in Acts 3:24-25, cited all the prophets from Samuel onward as foretelling the crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and coming of the Holy Spirit. Peter called that crowd children of the prophets and of the covenant God made with Abraham, that through Abraham’s seed all kindreds of the earth would be blessed. Therefore, Les teaches, all prophecy is directed to the nation of Israel, because Israel is at the core of the prophetic events, even Revelation. The whole world will be involved, but it is primarily directed to Israel, as Jeremiah 30 calls it the time of Jacob’s trouble. God had not cast off the Gentiles; He would use Israel to gather them.
