Why is all prophecy directed to the nation of Israel?
All prophecy centers on Israel because Israel stands at the core of every prophetic event, including Revelation and the time of Jacob's trouble. Peter calls his Jewish hearers children of the prophets and the covenant, and God's plan was for Israel to receive the Redeemer, Messiah, King, and Kingdom, with Gentiles gathered through Israel.
Les explains that Peter is preaching to a Jewish crowd in Acts 3:24-25, saying all the prophets from Samuel onward foretold these days—the crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and coming of the Holy Spirit. Peter then calls that Jewish audience the children of the prophets and of the covenant God made with Abraham, that in Abraham's seed all kindreds of the earth would be blessed. Les teaches that all prophecy is directed to the nation of Israel because they will be at the core of all prophetic events, even the Book of Revelation, which is primarily directed to Israel though the whole world comes along with it. He connects this to Jeremiah 30 and the time of Jacob's trouble. Peter stands on covenant ground: since Abraham, Israel was to receive the Redeemer, Messiah, King, and Kingdom, and through Israel God would gather the Gentiles. God had not cast off the Gentiles, but He would use the nation of Israel.
