Can human technology make the Dead Sea a fishing ground full of fish, or will it only happen at the Second Coming?
Human technology cannot turn the Dead Sea into a fishing ground. Scripture says fishermen will stand on its shores from En Gedi to En Aglaim, spreading nets, with many kinds of fish like the Mediterranean. This will occur when God sets up His Kingdom at the Second Coming and fresh water from Jerusalem purifies the Dead Sea.
Les teaches that man's technology cannot accomplish this. He asks whether the Dead Sea could become a fishing ground through technology and answers, "No way." Instead, it will happen when God sets up the Kingdom at His Second Coming. He comes to the nation of Israel, sets up His Kingdom, and one effect is that fresh water goes out from Jerusalem and purifies the Dead Sea. The fishers, or fishermen, will stand upon it—the Dead Sea, its shores—all the way from En Gedi even unto En Aglaim, a place to spread forth their nets. Their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, the Mediterranean, a great many.
