What will the future kingdom be like?

The future kingdom will be an earthly government ruled by the King of kings and Lord of lords, who will reign over Israel and the whole world. It will be perfect, with no sin, corruption, or rotten politics, and His government and peace will have no end on the throne of David.

Les explains that this coming kingdom is the earthly kingdom Christ talked about in His earthly ministry, the one all Old Testament prophecy looks forward to. It will have a King of kings and Lord of lords who rules not only Israel but the whole world. It will be perfect—no sin, no corruption, no rotten politics—and His government rests on the shoulder of the One Isaiah describes. The Prince of Peace is Christ, who is also God the Father. His government and peace will have no end upon the throne of David. The concept of this coming King comes from the Abrahamic Covenant, and Matthew presents Christ as King, with a genealogy going back to Abraham, because He will rule and reign over Israel and the whole world.
