What does it mean that there is power in the blood?
The power in the blood means Christ’s blood was divine, not human, because it came from God the Father rather than a human mother. That divine blood carried all the power of the Eternal Godhead, and through faith in it God declares His righteousness, remits sins, and justifies believers.
Les explains that Jesus’ blood was divine even though He was born of a human mother, because the blood system of a fetus comes from the father, not the mother. Since God was His Father, Jesus had no human blood; His blood was divine and had all the power of the Eternal Godhead in it. Les ties this to placing our faith in His blood, saying that just as there is resurrection power, so there is power in the blood. He calls it divine, originated in God, and says that blood was presented in the very throne room of Heaven. The passage read speaks of through faith in His blood, declaring God’s righteousness for the remission of sins, and justifying those who believe, all based on His finished work.
