Is there really power in the blood of Jesus?
Yes. Because God was His Father and the blood of a fetus comes from the father, not the mother, Jesus had no human blood; His blood was divine and contained all the power of the Eternal Godhead. Faith in that blood brings remission of sins and justification.
Les teaches that Jesus’ blood was divine even though He was born of a human mother, because the blood system of a fetus does not come from the mother but from the Father. Since God was the Father, Jesus had no human blood; His blood was divine and had all the power of the Eternal Godhead in it. Therefore, people must place their faith in His blood. Les affirms that just as surely as there is resurrection power, so also there is power in the blood, as the hymn writer put it. He loves that old song and remains an adherent of the old hymns, saying they cannot write songs like they used to. That blood is divine, originated in God, and will be presented in the very throne room of Heaven. Through faith in His blood, God declares His righteousness for the remission of sins and justifies those who believe, all based on His finished work.
