Why did the weeknight Bible class have sweeter fellowship than the man's church?

The weeknight class had sweeter fellowship because those attending came without loyalty to a local organization like a church. They came out on a weeknight because they loved the Book and were hungry for the Word, not merely to hear a teacher. When believers get into the Book, fellowship naturally results.

Les recalls a man saying that in the college classroom, with just a plain old wooden floor and student desks, there was sweeter fellowship than he had ever enjoyed even in his own church. The man said he loved his church and his pastor, but they just did not have the fellowship found in those classes. Les likes to think it is because a weeknight class has no loyalty to a local organization such as a church. If people come out on a weeknight, it is because they love the Book, not because they want to hear Les, but because they are hungry for the Word. When believers are gathered into the Book, fellowship follows as part of it. Les therefore encourages people in the area to join one of these weeknight classes, because they do have a good time.
