How will the Antichrist perform the abomination of desolation?

The Antichrist will perform the abomination of desolation by sacrificing a hog on the rebuilt temple altar, defiling it with swine's blood. At the midpoint of the Tribulation, he will enter Jerusalem and the Temple, much as Antiochus Epiphanes defiled the temple by sacrificing a sow.

Les explains that Antiochus Epiphanes, the little Syrian dictator, was a type of the Antichrist in Daniel's prophecy and is also referred to in Isaiah. Though a pipsqueak in history, he is a big deal in Scripture because he defiled the temple by sacrificing a hog, a sow, on the altar; the swine's blood was the abomination. Les thinks the Antichrist will do much the same thing. As an illustration, Les notes that several months ago some secular Jews, trying to make a point against Orthodox Jews, smeared swine's blood on a synagogue, which would deeply offend an Orthodox Jew. So Les concludes the Antichrist will perform that abomination of desolation by sacrificing an old hog on the beautiful temple altar Israel will no doubt have rebuilt. Then, as Daniel says, everything determined will be poured out upon the desolate—or better, the desolator, the man Antichrist. Les says this is what Jesus refers to: at the midpoint of the Tribulation, this man will come into Jerusalem, come into the Temple, and defile it. Jesus is talking strictly to Jews.
