How will the Antichrist deceive the world?
The Antichrist will deceive the world by presenting himself as the Christ. He will come on the scene as the counterfeit Christ, the White Horse, the man of sin, and will practically convince the world that he is the Messiah, deceiving many because he appears to be what the world is looking for.
Les teaches that Jesus begins in verse 4 to lay out all the events of the seven years, starting with the appearance of the White Horse in Revelation chapter 6: the man of sin, the counterfeit Christ, and the Antichrist. This deceiver will come on the scene and practically convince the world that he is the Christ, because he is what the world is looking for. Jesus warned, "Take heed that no man deceive you," for many shall come in His name saying, "I AM Christ." Les points to I John 2:18 as the one place this man of sin, this counterfeit Christ, is actually called the Antichrist. As examples, he mentions Sigmund Moon from Korea, who tried to tell the world he was the Christ and Messiah, and says there have been others and will be more. But the deception will culminate in the real counterfeiter, the real Antichrist, who will convince the world that he is the Christ and deceive many.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
