What does Jesus accomplish by taking the scroll in Revelation 5?

By taking the scroll, Jesus, the Lamb, receives the right to open it and loose its seven seals. Having prevailed through His death at Calvary, He takes the mortgage and agrees to pay it off, redeeming people to God by His blood and delivering the planet from the curse.

Les explains that John wept because no one in Heaven or on earth was found worthy to open, read, or look on the book. One elder tells him to weep not, because the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and loose its seven seals. The Lamb is the Christ, the Son God sent into the earth. God the Son qualified by what He accomplished at Calvary, and He came and took the scroll from the right hand of Him on the throne. The heavenly host sings a new song, saying He is worthy to take the scroll and open its seals because He was slain and redeemed us to God by His blood out of every kindred, tongue, people, and nation, making them kings and priests who shall reign on the earth. Les says God the Son takes this mortgage and agrees to pay it off to lift or deliver the planet from the curse, which ties back to Israel's history of redeeming and gaining back title, requiring a next of kin who was capable and willing.
