What did the scroll in Revelation 5 symbolize?
The scroll in Revelation 5 symbolized the paying off of a mortgage and the delivery of the earth from the curse instituted back at the garden. It pictured the earth's redemption from the curse, a legal discharge and liberation. So it was both a mortgage payoff and the earth's release from the curse begun at the garden.
Les teaches that the scroll in Revelation 5 symbolized a paying off of a mortgage and also the delivery of the earth from the curse that was instituted back at the garden. He explains that it represents the legal discharge and release of the earth from that curse. He also connects this to the concept of delivery, since Jesus spoke of travail and delivery in Matthew 24, and the scroll is tied to that same delivery of the earth.
