Why have believers been translated into the kingdom of God's Son?
Believers are translated into the kingdom of God's Son because the Father delivered them from the power of darkness and made them fit to share the inheritance of the saints in light. This translation occurs by virtue of salvation based on the Gospel, giving them a heavenly position and citizenship.
Les explains that Paul, praying for the Gentile believers in Colossae, gives thanks to the Father who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. The Father delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. That kingdom is in Heaven, and positionally believers are already in Heaven even while still on terra firma. Les further connects this to Philippians 3: believers are translated into the kingdom by virtue of salvation based on the Gospel. Their citizenship is in Heaven, and from there they look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will change their vile body to be fashioned like His.
