What does it mean to be translated into the kingdom of God's dear Son?

It means the Father has delivered believers from the power of darkness and has already positioned them in the kingdom of His dear Son. This is a finished transaction, described as being baptized into or engulfed by that position, making them partakers of the saints' inheritance in light.

Les explains that the Father has made us meet, or prepared us, to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; we are no longer in darkness but now in light. He says God the Father hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and this is already done—a finished transaction. The word translated means a position, like being baptized into it or engulfed by it, and he hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.

Colossians 1:13
