What does it mean that we were translated into the kingdom of God's Son?

It means God the Father has, in past tense, delivered believers from the power of darkness and placed them into the kingdom of His dear Son. This translation is God's instantaneous act when one believes, appropriated by faith, not by fleshly effort or feeling, and it points to a literal kingdom, spiritual and physical one day.

Les explains that being translated into the kingdom of God's Son is one of the things that are part and parcel of salvation. It was done instantaneously the moment we believe, and none of it could be done in the flesh; it all had to be by an act of God, and we appropriate it by faith. He notes that Hebrews 11 says without faith it is impossible to please Him, so it has to be reckoned by faith. This translation is number 8 in his list, and he stresses that we did not feel ourselves suddenly taking a trip or sense that we were in one place and now another, yet Scripture says that is what has happened. It is past tense; it is done. In Colossians 1, starting at verse 12, Paul prays for the Colossian believers, giving thanks to the Father who has made us meet, or prepared us, to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. Speaking of God the Father, He has past tense delivered us from the power of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son. Les notes this is not often heard; he cannot remember a sermon on being translated into the kingdom, though he has heard sermons about the kingdom being within you. But this is talking about a literal kingdom, spiritual as well as physical, one day.
