What happened to Naaman the Syrian general?

Naaman the Syrian general had leprosy; his servant urged him to see Israel's prophet. Though he objected to dipping in the Jordan, preferring Syrian rivers, he finally obeyed and dipped seven times as instructed, and he was healed of his leprosy.

Les explains that leprosy is used in Scripture as a picture of sin, showing how horrible sin is. Naaman, a Syrian general, had leprosy, and his servant begged him to go to the prophet of Israel to be healed. He ended up with Elijah, who did not come out himself but sent his servant to tell Naaman to dip in Jordan seven times. Naaman objected that there were cleaner rivers in his home city in Syria, but that was not what God had said through the prophet. He finally did dip, and he was healed of his leprosy.
