What did Saul have to do after being let down the wall in Damascus?

After being lowered in a basket through the back side of Damascus' wall at night, Saul had to find his way in pitch darkness while people sought to kill him. From Damascus he then went to Mount Sinai in Arabia, where God would give him the doctrines of grace.

Les explains that God did not simply warn Saul in a vision to leave Damascus. Instead, He waited until the death threats became heavy and Saul heard them from more than one direction. So Saul's friends had to let him down the wall in a basket in the middle of the night, not on the side where the main road ran but on the back side of Damascus. It was pitch dark, without street lights, and Saul had to find his way knowing people were trying to kill him. Les says that was the way God did it. From Damascus, as Paul later tells us in Galatians chapter 1, he went down to Mount Sinai in Arabia, the same place where God gave the Law to Moses. There God would give him the whole doctrines of grace, which Paul calls the Revelation of the Mysteries.
