Are people who reject the virgin birth doomed?
Yes, those who reject the virgin birth are doomed, because it is part of salvation. The virgin birth is basic to salvation: it explains how Christ had divine, untainted blood from the Father, not human blood from Mary, and could be sinless and incorruptible.
Les explains that many people cannot accept the virgin birth, but if they cannot, they are doomed, because it is part of our salvation. He connects this to the physiological fact that the mother's blood never enters the fetus; the blood system comes only from the father. Therefore Mary's blood did not interchange with Jesus in the womb. Since Jesus did not have a human father, He did not have human blood but divine blood—untainted, sinless, and incorruptible. That is why the virgin birth is so basic to salvation.
