Les Feldick Bible Study

Can someone be saved if they reject the resurrection of Christ?

No. The resurrection stands at the heart of the gospel, and salvation rests on God raising Christ from the dead. If a person denies the resurrection, they lack the power of resurrection as the basis of salvation. Belief that Jesus was a good man or died by crucifixion is not enough; the gospel requires His victorious resurrection.

Les teaches that the resurrection is the bedrock of the Gospel. He explains that it was the power of God that raised Christ from the dead, declaring Him to be the only begotten Son of God. When people say they believe Christ died and is somehow the Savior but have a problem with His resurrection, Les says he has a problem understanding that they are even saved. If the power of the resurrection is not the basis of salvation, then there is none, because it all rests on God raising Him from the dead. Les also points out that before the resurrection Peter collapsed and denied Christ, but after the resurrection he was afraid of nobody because he had witnessed the power of resurrection. It is not enough to believe Jesus was a good man or that He died a crucifixion; the Gospel must be taken to its fruition, that He was raised victorious over sin, hell, and death.
