Why did God include Revelation 21:8?

Revelation 21:8 was included as a reminder of who will not be in the eternal state. It names the fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, and law liars, whose part is the lake of fire, the second death, final separation from God.

Les teaches that Revelation 21:8 is a recap. He says he does not know why God put it there, but he thinks it is a reminder of who will not be in the eternal state with believers. The verse lists the fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, and law liars. Their part is in the lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death, because it is the final separation from God.

Revelation 21:8

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
