Les Feldick Bible Study

What happens to unsaved people after they die?

Unsaved people from all ages, including today, go down into hell, specifically into the torment side of Hades. Abraham describes Hades as a place with a great gulf fixed, with torment on one side and paradise on the other. The lost do not go to paradise; they remain in torment.

Les teaches that Hades, or hell, is the place with a great gulf fixed. On one side is torment, and on the other side is paradise. Before the cross, all believers from Adam could not go to heaven; they went down to paradise because the atoning blood of Christ had not yet removed the stain of sin. Animal blood could not take it away. The lost, however, from all the ages, including today, are still going down into hell, as we understand it, but into the torment side. Les points out that when Christ told the thief, 'Today thou shalt be with me in paradise,' He was speaking of the centermost part of the earth. Paul puts his stamp of approval on this teaching, which is why Les is comfortable teaching it.
