What happens to the works of an unsaved person after he dies?

After physical death, the works of an unsaved person's life are brought up before him at the Great White Throne Judgment. His unsaved experience produces fruit unto death, for that is what he lived for, and those works will face that judgment.

Les explains from Romans chapter 7 that while people are in the flesh, the motions of sins which were by the Law work in the members of the body to bring forth fruit unto death. The unsaved person, therefore, is living only for the day when he dies physically. At that point, the works of his unsaved experience are going to come up before him at the Great White Throne Judgment. The fruit he has produced is death, not life.

Romans 7:5

For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
