Why should you be careful when you pray 'Lord, use me'?
Be careful because God may answer that prayer in surprising ways: He can suddenly take hold of you and start using you in the body of Christ according to His placement, not your expectations. Surrender invites His active work, and His use of you may not match what you imagined.
Les explains that God has set every member in the body as it pleased Him, and every believer is in the place where God puts them. Paul teaches that the body is not one member but many, and no one can claim to be at the top of the heap. Whether a role is visible or seemingly invisible, each believer is equally important in function. So it is right to say, “All right Lord, here I am, use me,” but Les warns you must be careful when you say that, because you might be surprised how He will suddenly take hold and start using you. That is just the way it works, part and parcel of the body of Christ.
