When does the believer's union with Christ begin?

The believer's union with Christ begins as soon as a person becomes a child of God through faith in the Gospel. At that moment, they become a member of the Body of Christ, are connected to Him, and become joint heirs with Him, with Christ as the Head and believers as members of His Body.

Les explains that this union begins in the believer's earthly sojourn, just as soon as a person becomes a child of God and a member of the Body of Christ through faith in the Gospel. At that point, the believer is already connected to Christ, having become a joint heir with Him. Christ is the Head, and believers make up the members of His Body. Les also references Romans 7:4, where Paul writes that believers have become dead to the law by the Body of Christ and are married to another, even to Him who was raised from the dead, so that they should bring forth fruit unto God. Les notes that Ephesians opens up deeper aspects of our position in Christ.
