When does God reckon the believer as married to Christ?

God reckons the believer as married to Christ as soon as old Adam is crucified and reckoned dead in His eyes. Immediately, the believer enters a new relationship, no longer under the Mosaic law, but under the love, grace, and mercy of Christ Himself.

Les explains that old Adam must be crucified, and the minute Adam is dead in God's eyes, the Ten Commandments no longer hang over him. Just as a widow is free to marry another after her husband's death, the believer picks up another relationship. As soon as old Adam is crucified and reckoned dead, immediately God reckons the believer as married to Christ—not under the Mosaic law, but under the love, grace, and mercy of Christ Himself. Les clarifies this is a spiritual relationship, not physical, and that being married to Christ does not mean believers are female in gender; it is merely a relationship.
