Where will believers be when Christ returns to the earth with His kingdom?
When Christ returns to the earth with His kingdom, believers will be with Him and will come back with Him. They will be bodily present with Him as He establishes the kingdom, though not in physical bodies of reproduction or male and female, being as the angels.
Les explains that the kingdom as the twelve apostles understood it is an earthly kingdom. Since the kingdom is not now on earth but in heaven, Paul speaks of our citizenship as being in heaven, and Colossians 1 says that at salvation we were translated from darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son in heaven. But when Christ returns to the earth with His kingdom, believers will be with Him and will come back with Him. Les notes that we will not be in physical bodies of reproduction or male and female; Jesus said we will be as the angels, yet we will be bodily present. When the kingdom is set up, we will interface with people living, raising children, the animal kingdom, and all that. The twelve apostles will sit under Christ’s throne there at Jerusalem, ruling the twelve tribes, and the early apostles were adherents of this earthly kingdom.
