Why does God keep the remnant of Israel insulated until Christ returns?
God insulates this remnant out of mercy and covenant faithfulness, protecting them supernaturally for the final three and a half years as He once kept Israel in Sinai, so they are kept until Christ appears in glory and they see Him coming in the clouds.
Les explains that during the final three and a half years, the escaping remnant of Israel—not the whole nation, but a percentage—flees from Judea to the mountains southeast of Jerusalem, as described in Matthew 24 after the abomination of desolation. There God supernaturally protects and insulates them from the horrible events of that period, just as Israel was kept in the Sinai desert for forty years. They may still be in unbelief concerning Christ as Messiah and King, yet God, in His mercy and covenant promises, preserves them until the second coming, when Christ returns with glory and power and they see Him coming in the clouds of glory.
