What message did Jesus preach as He traveled through the cities and villages of Israel?
As Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages of Israel, He taught in their synagogues and preached the gospel of the kingdom. His message was that people should repent because the kingdom of heaven was at hand. He also healed every sickness and disease among the people.
Les teaches that after Jesus began His earthly ministry, He preached, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." This was in fulfillment of promises made to Israel through the Abrahamic covenant. The nation was in the land, and Jesus came to present Himself as their King. In chapter 9, verse 35, He went about all the cities and villages of Israel, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, healing every sickness and disease. Later He chose the twelve and commanded them not to go to Gentiles or Samaritans but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, showing the kingdom message was first directed to Israel.
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
