What did God promise to give the Messiah in Psalm 2:8?

Psalm 2:8 records God promising the Messiah, the King, that He would give Him the heathen or Gentiles as His inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth. This shows the Kingdom is not limited to Israel but includes the whole human race and will be established on earth.

Les explains that in Psalm 2:8 the Messiah, the King, is told to ask, and God will give Him the heathen or Gentiles for His inheritance. He emphasizes that this means the Kingdom is not merely an Israeli Kingdom or a Jewish Kingdom, but will include the whole human race. The verse also promises the uttermost parts of the earth, not heaven, showing that this Kingdom will be on earth, as all Scripture defines it. Les then connects this to Isaiah 2, where the Lord's house is established in the last days, exalted above the nations, and all nations flow into it.

Psalms 2:8

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
