What happens to the two men in Revelation 19:20?

According to Revelation 19:20, the two men who deceived those who received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image are cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. They are not sent to hell but go directly into the lake of fire.

Les explains that these two men are cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone, not into hell. He notes that hell and the lake of fire are not the same; hell will one day go into the lake of fire. At this point in time, no one is in the lake of fire, whereas lost people go to hell today. Following this, verse 21 describes the remnant being slain by the sword proceeding from the mouth of the one on the horse, which Les identifies as His Word.

Revelation 19:20

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
