What happens to the beast and false prophet in Revelation 19:20?

At the return of Christ after the tribulation, the beast—identified as the Antichrist—and the false prophet are taken together and cast alive into the lake of burning fire. They do not go to hell first; they are sent immediately into the lake of fire.

Les explains that Revelation 19:20 clearly defines both figures after the tribulation has run its course and Christ has returned. The beast is the Antichrist who headed up the bestial empire, and with him is the false prophet who wrought miracles before him and deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and worshipped his image. Both are men, born of women and raised like any other child, but they become tools of Satan—one the political leader, the other the religious leader. Both have been used of Satan, and both now are cast alive into the lake of burning fire. They do not go to hell; they go immediately to the lake of fire. Les also points to Revelation 20:10 as another reference.

Revelation 19:20

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
