Why do the nations gather in the Middle East, and what happens to them?
The nations and their armies gather in the Middle East to destroy the nation of Israel. The Lord goes forth to fight against them, and they are destroyed in turn by the return of Christ; then His feet stand upon the Mount of Olives.
Les explains that the kings and their armies come to the Middle East for one purpose: to destroy the nation of Israel. But the Lord Himself goes forth to fight against those gathered nations, and they are destroyed in turn by the return of Christ. At that point His feet stand upon the Mount of Olives. Les further teaches that before the King can establish His Kingdom on earth, He must deal with His archenemies. The beast, the Antichrist, and the false prophet are taken. The false prophet had been the leader of the world's religions during the seven years, while the Antichrist rose in politics. Les calls this an unholy trinity: Satan, the false prophet, and the Antichrist, with the false prophet causing people to worship the Antichrist as the Holy Spirit leads believers to worship Christ.
