The wealthy merchants and money men of this world have, for the most part, come down on God's people as they generated wealth. They are not concerned about the poor individual, and millions have lost their lives at the discretion of those who could have controlled it.
Les teaches that the merchants and money men of this world are not concerned about the welfare of the poor individual on the street; they focus on where they can generate wealth and never lose sight of that. The Scriptures make plain that as they generated wealth, they also came down for the most part on God's people. He illustrates this by pointing to fifty million lives lost in World War II, fifty million lost during the seventy years the Communists ran Russia, and fifty million believers martyred during the Dark Ages. Millions lost their lives at the discretion of people who could have controlled it. Behind this world system, Les says, the god of this world is Satan.
