What will happen to the world's financial centers when Babylon falls?
When Babylon falls, the world's great financial centers—London, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, and others globally—will suddenly disappear from view. The survivors, kings, and merchants will stand afar off, bewail and mourn her, lamenting that in one hour her judgment came and no one buys their merchandise anymore.
Les explains that Revelation 18 describes the world system as Babylon. The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived deliciously with her will bewail and lament her, seeing the smoke of her burning and standing afar off for fear of her torment. They say, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour is thy judgment come.' The merchants of the earth also weep and mourn because no one buys their merchandise anymore. Les applies this to the great financial centers—London, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, and others around the globe—which will suddenly disappear from view. The survivors will bewail and mourn, asking what the end of all this will be.
