What is end-time Babylon according to Les?
End-time Babylon is the worldwide system of economy, politics, and religion that will come under the wrath of God and be suddenly and totally destroyed, just as ancient Babylon fell overnight when the Medes and Persians diverted the Euphrates. This is the far fulfillment of Jeremiah 51:8.
Les explains that Jeremiah 51:8 can be read with both a near and a far view. Historically, ancient Babylon fell suddenly when the Medes and Persians gained entrance under the walls by drying up and diverting the river Euphrates, so the city was destroyed almost overnight. But Les also takes the long-term view: the Babylon of the end-time ages is the whole worldwide system of economy, politics, and religion. That system will likewise come under the wrath of God and be suddenly and totally destroyed. He then moves to Daniel to continue that same line of thinking.
Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.
