What will happen to the whole world system?
The whole world system is coming to an end and will calamitously disappear; it will literally fall. Its plagues will come in one day—death, mourning, famine, and burning with fire—because the strong Lord God judges it, once the seven-year tribulation begins and God's wrath is evident.
Les explains that this present world system is coming to an end, and it is closer than most people think. Being a literalist, he believes the plagues of verse 8 will happen in a matter of hours: this whole world system is going to calamitously disappear and literally fall. Verse 8 describes one day of death, mourning, famine, and being utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. The world has enjoyed the grace of God for almost two thousand years; the disasters, floods, and earthquakes are not God's doing but are permitted, and Satan is primarily the god of nature today. That suffering is not God's wrath yet. But once the seven-year tribulation starts, God's wrath is going to be evident, and He will finally pay mankind for their total rebellion and wickedness. Jeremiah has tremendous prophecies concerning Babylon.
