Why does Satan gather the world's armies to the Middle East in Revelation 18?
Satan gathers the world's armies to the Middle East to finally and once and for all get rid of the Jewish problem, believing he can destroy Israel. He does not realize the gathering will become the final battle between himself and Almighty God, where God destroys the assembled armies.
Les explains that in Revelation 18, all the armies of the world have gathered into the land of Israel, and Satan feels he can finally and once and for all get rid of the Jewish problem. He teaches that this is the main reason Satan calls all the armies to the Middle East, not realizing it will turn into that final battle between himself and the Almighty God. God then destroys all these accumulated armies in the land of Israel with a tremendous hailstorm of hundred-pound hailstones. Les connects this to the wine vat analogy, with the armies packed primarily into the valley of Megiddo, and the accompanying river of blood and water running as deep as the bridles and horses' bits. Chapter 18 gives the full view of how the whole world system will finally come to its end.
