Who is the king over the locusts in Revelation 9?

Revelation 9 identifies the king over the locusts as the angel of the bottomless pit. His Hebrew name is Abaddon, and his Greek name is Apollyon, which means the destroyer. He is not Satan, but probably one of Satan’s lieutenants.

Les teaches from Revelation 9:11 that the locust-like creatures have a king over them, the angel of the bottomless pit. His name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, and in the Greek tongue his name is Apollyon, which really means the destroyer. Les explains that beyond this we do not know who this angel is. He is quite sure it is not Satan, saying he is probably one of Satan's cohorts or lieutenants, though some may feel this is Satan. These locusts have tails like scorpions and power to hurt men five months, and after this first woe, two more woes are still to come.

Revelation 9:11
