Does God have control over the locusts in Revelation 9?
Yes. Revelation 9 presents the locusts as demonic creatures under God's complete control. He commands them not to harm grass, green things, or trees, but only people lacking God's seal. Their limited target and action show they execute His wrath, which is fair and just, upon God-rejecting mankind.
Les explains that in Revelation 9 the locusts are commanded, showing God has complete control. This is God's wrath being poured out on God-rejecting mankind, and everything He does is fair and just. The command specifies they must not hurt the grass, any green thing, or any tree, but only men who have not the seal of God in their foreheads. Those sealed are identified as the 144,000, whom these demonic creatures cannot touch, as also referenced from chapter 7. Their scorpion-like sting and psychological effect are real, but their targets remain restricted by God's command.
