Why does unbelief frustrate God?
Unbelief frustrates God because it is the worst sin and the opposite of faith, rejecting the love He has patiently poured out on the human race. Faith in His Word pleases and obeys God, but persistent unbelief refuses to believe Him or trust His Word.
Les explains that unbelief is the worst sin possible because it is the opposite of faith. When a person has faith in God's Word, that faith is pleasing to God and produces obedience, making that person exactly what God wants them to be. But when the human race cannot believe Him or trust His Word, that is what is so frustrating to God. This follows His patient pouring out of love toward the human race, while they continue to react in unbelief. Psalm 2:5 then shows that because of this, He will speak to the people of the world in His wrath and vex them, meaning He will literally torment them, and He will do it righteously, with all fairness and justness. Revelation 12 likewise shows the seriousness of this rebellion as the devil is kicked out of heaven and comes down to the earth.
