What does Les say about the loss of life and God's wrath in the trumpet judgments so far?
The trumpet judgments have already brought tremendous loss of life and destruction of living things, including the human race and sea and animal life. This all comes under God's wrath, yet the angel announces that the woes still to come are nothing compared to what remains.
Les explains that by this point in the trumpet judgments it is already horrible. There has already been a tremendous loss of life and of living things, not only among the human race but also among living things in the sea and animal life. He says it is all coming under the wrath of God. In the third trumpet, the waters became wormwood, many men died because the waters were made bitter, and Les notes as a sidelight that Chernobyl means wormwood. At the fourth trumpet, a third part of the sun, moon, and stars is smitten, and the day and light do not shine for a third part. Then an angel flies through heaven saying, "Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabitants of the earth" because of the three trumpets yet to sound. Les stresses that despite the death and destruction already seen, the angel says it is nothing compared to what is left.
