Will every Jew be saved, or only the believing remnant?
Not every Jew will be saved. At the end time, two-thirds of Israel will not believe, but one-third will believe and be called Israel. All of the believing remnant of Israel will be saved, not the entire ethnic nation. Jacob's unbelieving state contrasted with Israel, the believing state, illustrates this distinction.
Les explains from Jacob’s wrestling that Jacob means deceiver or supplanter, while Israel means prince with God. Israel was the believing Jacob, and Jacob referred to his unbelieving state. This distinction carries into Isaiah chapter 9: the word came to Jacob, but only Israel heard—only the believer. Les applies this to the end time: two-thirds of Israel are not going to believe, but a third will, and that third will be called Israel. Therefore, all of Israel will be saved in the sense of the believing remnant, not every ethnic Jew. Scripture’s point is that not every Jew is saved, but all of the believing remnant of Israel will be saved.
