Does teaching that Israel killed Jesus give an excuse for anti-Semitism?

No. The biblical account that Israel rejected and killed the Messiah does not provide an excuse for anti-Semitism. Such teaching must be handled carefully so it is not misused, especially since many religions have accused Jewish people of being God-killers for 1900 years.

Les teaches that Peter, addressing the men of Israel in Acts 3, charged them with delivering up, denying, and killing the Prince of Life. The nation had rejected and crucified their Messiah, and Peter called them to repent. Les explains that he is always careful when teaching this so it does not come across as an excuse for anti-Semitism. He notes that for the last 1900 years many religions have accused the Jew of being the God killers, but that accusation is not the point of the text.
