What one word covers all sin?

The one word that covers all sin is unbelief. Scripture identifies unbelief as the opposite of faith, and it is at the heart of all disobedience. When people do not believe what God has said, every manner of sin can enter, because unbelief gives the permissiveness to perform those things.

Les explains that at the heart of all disobedience, including for those in the age of grace, is one Word. He asks what one Word covers all sin and answers that it is unbelief, the opposite of faith. Israel was obedient as long as they had faith in God's Word, but as soon as they did not believe what God said, all their sin came in over them. Les emphasizes that no matter what manner of sin it was, unbelief gave them the permissiveness to perform it. He connects this to Psalms 95, beginning at verse 7, warning not to harden the heart as in the provocation and temptation in the wilderness during the 40 years.
