What is the only sin that condemns us?
The only sin that condemns us is unbelief concerning the gospel. While blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is discussed as unpardonable for Israel as a nation, the context clarifies that the one sin that condemns us is unbelief concerning the gospel.
Les teaches that although some may still think the condemning sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit, he proposes a better way of looking at it: there is only one sin that condemns us, and that is unbelief concerning the gospel. He maintains that someone could blaspheme the Holy Spirit, and God can still save him tomorrow or next week; he remains a candidate for the grace of God. The unpardonable sin is dealing with Israel as the nation, which rejected the Father by killing the prophets and rejected the Son by killing the Christ, and now how they deal with the Holy Spirit is the unpardonable part. He then turns to Acts chapter 6 and the appointment of the seven men normally called deacons.
