When will the great religious system come to its peak?
The great religious system, Mystery Babylon, will come to its peak during the last seven years. Having opposed God's truth since ancient Babylon and the Tower of Babel, it will crescendo and suddenly reach its climax in that final seven-year period.
Les explains that this great religious system goes all the way back to ancient Babylon, the Tower of Babel, and has been the adversary of the truth of God ever since. It is going to crescendo during this last seven years, when it will all of a sudden come to a peak. This mystery Babylon is the mother of harlots. Idolatry feeds on the baser instincts of humanity, as illustrated by the silversmiths whose greed prompted them to rise up against Paul's ministry and Christianity because their wealth came from making silver shrines to Diana.
