How will the false prophet get people to worship the Antichrist?

The false prophet will employ a vast religious organization and perform great miracles—even calling fire down from heaven—to deceive the world. By Satan-given power he will convince people to worship the first beast, the Antichrist, as truth, though he is a counterfeit.

Les explains that the false prophet will have a great religious organization at his disposal and enough power to convince those under his religious umbrella to worship not the God of creation but the Antichrist, the counterfeit. The false prophet, this religious leader, will do great wonders, making fire come down from heaven in the sight of men. He will use miracles and power to convince the human race of who he is; he is a counterfeit, but he will convince them he is the truth. Verse 14 calls him a deceiver who deceives those dwelling on the earth by means of those miracles. Les reminds us that Satan has power to perform miracles, as Pharaoh’s magicians in Egypt did, and they will do it again in the tribulation, receiving their power from Satan.

What does the false prophet cause the people of the earth to worship?

The false prophet causes earth's inhabitants to worship the first beast, the Antichrist and counterfeit, instead of the God of creation. That first beast is also described as the healed Roman empire, whose deadly wound was healed. Through miracles and deception, the false prophet convinces people to give worship to this beast.
