In what way will the 144,000 redeem Israel during the Tribulation?
They will supernaturally redeem Israel from what it missed 2,000 years ago by seeing a great harvest of souls during the Tribulation. Multitudes from every tongue, tribe, and nation will believe and be converted through the 144,000's message, even though the 144,000 themselves will be martyred.
Les teaches that the 144,000 are young Jewish men who will supernaturally, as he puts it, sort of redeem Israel from what they missed 2,000 years ago. They will see a great harvest of souls under horrible circumstances. John said in Revelation 7 that they will see a multitude believe and be converted, but they themselves will be martyred. Les disagrees with Tim LaHaye's suggestion that these 144,000 may see more converts in six or six and a half years than the church age has in 2,000 years. Les's reason is that the church age is still God's main harvest, while the tribulation saints are merely the gleanings and the harvesting of the corners. Nevertheless, Scripture says multitudes from every tongue, tribe, and nation will hear the message of the 144,000.
