How can someone escape the terrible days coming on the earth?
A person escapes the terrible days coming on the earth by partaking of God’s salvation and seeking His saving grace. After hearing the word of truth—the gospel of salvation—and believing, one is sealed and preserved with the Holy Spirit of promise, rather than facing the coming horrors.
Les teaches that Paul writes to the believer, and the word of truth is the gospel of your salvation. In whom also after you believed, you were sealed and preserved with that Holy Spirit of promise. As Les looks at the awful, terrible days about to come upon the earth, he says fear may prompt someone to seek God’s saving grace in order to escape some of these things. Scripture makes it plain that these terrible days are coming, but a person can escape by simply partaking of God’s salvation. Les does not embellish the fear concept, yet he asks why anyone would be foolish and spurn so great a salvation only to end up in the horrors coming on the earth. He points to 1 Corinthians chapter 15 as the most explicit definition of the gospel.
